SOUTHEND Rugby Club’s under 17 side have been crowned Essex League champions.
Southend clinched the club’s first ever title at this level by beating a Brentwood side who had not been beaten in five seasons.
The team, who are managed by Martin Gregory and first team star Kris Chesney, have played together since the age of 11 and have now been entered into the National Cup which starts in January.
