T-BIRDS triumphed 24-10 at Henley to stay in the race for promotion from Championship One South.
Henley went in front with a penalty but T’s began to stamp their dominance on the set piece and slowly dismantled the home-side’s line-out and scrum.
As a result, T-Birds put together a dominant 20-minute spell during which they bagged four tries with Sophie Tyler, Jodie Rettie, Jen Mountjoy and Sophia Jordan all touching down to put the visitors 24-3 ahead at half-time.
But, lacking their customary intensity, the T’s fell foul of a picky referee and never really managed to get going in the second half.
As a result, they were unable to score a fifth try which would have secured a bonus point and Henley hit back to score a consolation try.
The victory keeps Thurrock second in the standings, six points behind league leaders Richmond.
T-Birds: Tuson, Harris, Tyler, Sultana, Franklin, Rettie, Cook, Nichols, Foy, Mountjoy, S Jordan, F Jordan, Wheeler, Beard, Hepper.
Replacements: Dyche & Emerson.
