THURROCK slipped to sixth in the London One North table after suffering a 40-18 defeat at Tring.

Thurrock, who now sit 10 points behind league leaders Amersham & Chiltern, were missing 11 players for the clash.

And T’s director of rugby Dean White was left ruing his side’s slow start to the game.

“We didn't start well and we were chasing the game after 10 minutes,” said White.

“Our processes in that spell were not of the standard required but we kept going and still produced some good rugby.

“Tring haven't lost at home all season and are a very good side.

“They caused us problems when they had the ball but likewise we caused them problems when we gained possession.

“And, considering we had 11 players out, the team did exceptionally well.”

Thurrock are now not back in action until Saturday January 9, when they take on Chelmsford.

But White still believes promotion is still possible for his side.

“The first half of the season has been a very good one for us,” said White.

“We are one of six teams who can still win this league.”
