ROCHFORD Hundred will be looking for a sixth win in succession when they host Basildon in London Two North East tomorrow.

Hundred have risen up to fourth in the standings after finding their best form.

But inside centre Brett Smith has warned his team-mates not to take victory for granted against rock bottom Basildon.

“Basildon haven't won a game this season but none of that matters when these two teams meet and that showed earlier on in the season,” said Smith.

“In truth, we were lucky to come away with a win that day after being behind the whole game.

“We know they will come at us again but if we perform to our full capability then it will be nothing but a comfortable home win.

“However, we know we can give nothing less than our all against a team that has nothing to lose.”

Despite Rochford’s recent good run of results they remain 11 points behind third placed Sudbury.

But Smith feels Hundred would have much closer to the top had the current line-up been in place at the start of the season.

“I'm sure if this team had been together for longer we would be a lot closer to the top three,” said Smith.

“The forward pack is, in my opinion, the best in the league and now with a functioning back line behind it the results are coming together.

“The team are in a good place right now, the environment among us all is a good one and we are enjoying this run of wins we’re on.”

Hundred have now not been beaten since early December.

But Smith feels they have left it too late to mount a push for promotion.

“We obviously want to finish as high up the table as possible but I feel we are out of reach of the top two if I’m honest,” said Smith.

“We’re pushing for third place and that will give us the confidence to aim for higher things next season.”

Ninth placed South Woodham Ferrers are also in action at home tomorrow as they entertain table-topping Saffron Walden.
