THURROCK look set to finish the London One North season in fourth after suffering a 35-22 defeat at CS Rugby.

The result brought T’s four-match winning run to an end.

But their director of rugby Dean White remains delighted by the progress his team have made this term.

“It now looks like we will finish fourth in the league this season but this is a huge turnaround from last season and one that we are very pleased with,” said White.

“We now have a very young and exciting team that is full of potential.”

But it is not just the first team results which have boosted White this season.

“The whole club is moving forward,” he said.

“Our other teams within the club have all had great seasons too.

“Our seconds, third and fourths all won their semi-final play-off games on Saturday and now progress onto the league finals this weekend.

“Our ladies team also have the national cup final on Saturday and will be looking to win this cup for the first time in their history.

“As well as that our youth and mini section have had great success and continue to feed into our senior set-up.

“We have a buzz around the club at the moment and we want to insure that we now push on from this position.”

However, Thurrock were unable to triumph at the weekend as they went down 19-0 inside the opening 15 minutes after conceding an unusual amount of penalties.

T’s did hit back with two tries from Tom Pool and one from Joss Nunn, while Tim Blundell kicked two penalties and a conversation but it was not enough to stop them suffering a rare defeat.
