THURROCK will be looking to make it two wins from two when they head to Barking in London One North on Saturday.

The T’s saw off Chelmsford 50-30 on the opening day of the season.

And their director of rugby Dean White is facing a number of selection headaches this weekend.

“The team are training very well at the moment and we have a very nice problem when it comes to selecting to the team,” said White.

“We have a few players returning this week and also had no issues with performance last week but it’s a great position to be in and one we hope to repeat every week.

“However, Barking will be a tough game and they are always hard to beat at home.”

Rochford Hundred kick off their London Two North East campaign at home to Diss.

Rochford hope to be pushing for promotion this season and will include big summer signing Mark Billings in their starting line-up after he opted to join them from Southend.

Also in London Two North East, South Woodham Ferrers host Epping Upper Clapton while, in London Three North East, Basildon - who were relegated last season - are at home to Wanstead.

In Essex One, Stanford le Hope head to Kings Cross Steelers and Billericay are away at Millwall.

Canvey Island are also on the road at Clacton and have Brett Smith back in their squad after he rejoined from Rochford Hundred.

The squad has also been strengthened elsewhere and Canvey’s assistant coach Kevin Hobart is keen to get off to a good start.

“The playing side is looking healthy,” said Hobart.

“Competition for first team places is just what we need and we look forward to the season.”
