CHRIS Shields is determined to help Southend Saxons get back on track at Sutton & Epsom in National Three London & SE tomorrow.

Southend have slipped down to eighth in the standings after suffering two defeats in succession.

And Shields is keen for the losing run to end this weekend.

“This weekend is a huge game for us,” said Shields.

“It’s vital we put last weekend at Dorking aside but use that frustration to fuel this weekend.

“We must play much more physically and dominantly than we did last weekend and stick to our game plan.

“Last weekend was very disappointing and we didn’t stick to our structure throughout the game which meant we wasted some vital opportunities.

“But we have to be able to bounce back from that now.”

And Shields is also eager to rediscover his best form against a Sutton side who sit 11th in the table.

“I felt I had been playing well until the Dorking match where I had the worst game of the season so far,” said the former Seevic College youngster.

“I was disappointed in myself and know I am capable of more.”
