SEEVIC College are just two games from Twickenham after reaching the quarter finals of the NatWest Schools Vase competition.

The Thundersley based college trounced the London Oratory School 64-12 in the last 16.

And centre George Griffiths - who scored a hat-trick in the victory - is keen to keep the good run going.

“It was a good win for us and we were all really happy to get through to the next round,” said Griffiths.

“We obviously want to be able to keep this going now and it would be a dream come true to get to Twickenham like the college did a couple of years ago now.

“But we’re not going to get carried away because there are going to be a lot of top teams left in what is a nationwide competition.

“However, we’ll keep on working hard and I know that every one of us will be giving it our best shot to get as far as we can and win as many games as possible.”

The hat-trick completed a memorable few weeks for 17-year-old Griffiths who recently made his first team debut for Southend and he could again be in their squad for Saturday’s clash against Hertford at Warners Bridge.

He warmed up for the clash with a fine showing for Seevic which saw Norbetas Radzevicius and David Rufai score two tries while Jake Spivey also touched down.

Seevic are now waiting to discover who they will be facing in the quarter finals.
