SOUTH Woodham Ferrers continue their push for promotion when they host Cantabrigian in London Two North East tomorrow.

Woodham sit second in the table, six points behind league leaders Diss with two games in hand.

And Woodham’s head coach Tony Woods is looking to keep the good run going against another of their high-flying rivals.

“They are all big games in the run in now but this is definitely a big game in its own right as they’re just below us in the table,” said Woods.

“We have a lot of home games and I want to make Woodham a fortress.

“If we do that then at the end of the season we will be there or thereabouts.

“We’ve trained hard this week, the boys have got some miles in their legs on Tuesday and also ran well on Thursday.

“We will be looking to start the new year in the right way and continue to put the pressure on Diss.”

Woodham welcome back Sammy Sharp from concussion this weekend and he will replace John Murphy who misses out with a shoulder problem.

Second row Tani Loka, a new signing, has also been added to the squad and first team manager Jack Kershaw has revealed more players are also keen to join.

“We’ve had a few lads enquire from around the county about coming down to training,” said Kershaw.

“Everyone is welcome and I think we will add one or two more lads to the squad in January but it won’t be easy for them to get into the matchday 18.

“It’s very settled at the moment and long may that continue as it shows in our league position.”
