THURROCK’S director of rugby Dean White was a frustrated figure after his side lost 7-5 at home to Chingford.
The setback kept T’s sixth in the London One North standings.
But White was unhappy with the manner of Chingford’s match-winning try.
“It was very frustrating to lose by a penalty try,” explained White.
“Most people on the sidelines and the management couldn’t understand the decision and it turned out to be a very controversial call.”
The defeat was Thurrock’s second in succession but, despite the setback, White felt there had been a definite improvement.
“Our performance was a lot better than the previous week but it was disappointing not to come away with the win,” said White.
“ We had most of the ball and territory but couldn’t convert that into points.
“We can take a lot of good out of the game but we also must start to convert our pressure into points.
“We will now work hard before this Saturday’s game against Ruislip and will look to fine tune our performance.”
