BASILDON will be seeking a fourth win in five games when they travel to East London in London Three Essex this weekend.

Third placed Basildon are level on points with their hosts who are immediately below them in the table.

And Basildon’s first team manager Mark Farrell believes this weekend could prove pivotal in the months ahead.

“We find the top four sides in our league all playing each other this weekend and although it’s early in the league campaign, this weekend will show which sides are serious about their league positions,” said Farrell.

“We played East London twice last year and honours were even with one win each but they finished above us and rightly so.

“East London are a very well drilled side with some very gifted players.

“They like to play an expansive game and we are expecting a very tough match.

“But head coach Mark Cushi and forwards coach Kris Chesney have prepared the side well this week.

“Training on Tuesday had an edge to it as the boys set about improving our game strategies and competing for a first team shirt.”
