ROCHFORD Hundred extended their unbeaten start to the London Two North East season with a 43-7 win against Woodford.

The victory was Hundred’s sixth in succession but it took James Kellard a little bit of time to enjoy the latest success at Magnolia Road.

“Initially I was quite disappointed by the result,” said Kellard.

“We wanted an 80 minute performance and I felt we didn’t achieve that.

“But on reflection, and after reviewing the game, I was more pleased with the result.

“We created a lot of chances, probably leaving four or five tries out there.

“Apart from a poor kick off clearance, our defence was very disciplined and Woodford threw everything at us.

“They showed great spirit and never gave up so we had to work for every point.”

The win also saw Rochford move seven points clear at the top of the table.

And Kellard is convinced Hundred will be able to continue their impressive start.

“I’m confident we will keep this up,” said Kellard.

“We have set our own goals this season.

“Some we have achieved, some we are on course to achieve and others we are a little short of at the moment so there is still plenty of room for improvement.

“We set our own high standards in training and we expect that to show in our performances.

“We have good strength in depth, so players know they have to consistently perform to stay in the team.

“We haven’t hidden the fact we want to win the league, but every team sees us as a scalp.

“That’s why we don’t get ahead of ourselves and take it one week at a time.”

Rochford dominated the majority of Saturday’s contest, with full-back Mark Billings and winger Sam Edwards both bagging two tries in the convincing victory.

Winger Mitch Bennett and replacement David Rufai also touched down and in-form Hundred will now be aiming to make it seven victories in a row when they travel to seventh placed Romford & Gidea Park this weekend.
