YOUNG star Bradley Gordon came out on top in an epic battle to triumph at Thorpe Bay’s Summer Rating Finals.
Gordon defeated Matthew Basham 10-8 in a third set tie-break with both of the Thorpe Bay players impressing in the sunshine.
But Gordon triumphed in his age group, as children ranging from under-eights to under-18s competed at Finals’ Day last weekend, as they bid to climb the LTA rating scheme.
In the adult category, Will Bailes and Clark Sargeant battled it out for the mens trophy, with Sargeant coming through 10-3 in the third set tie-break after two very close opening sets.
In the Ladies’ Final, Rochford’s Amy Plews won through against Thorpe Bay’s Suzanne Ellis to take the women’s crown and bring the day to an end.
