Tennis: Thorpe Bay youngsters are the champions of Essex
THORPE Bay’s 12 and under boys’ team have been crowned Essex champions.
The youngsters had remained undefeated in all their previous matches but still needed to beat Billericay on Saturday to win Aegon Essex League Division One.
Thorpe led 3-1 following the singles and then secured the solitary doubles win they needed to win, eventually running out 4-2 winners.
Archie McAllister, James Anderson, Max Webb and Elliot Althasen played the final match, while Alex Burrows was unbeaten in all his earlier matches in the season.
