Harris and partner Trevor Stone were a set and 2-5 down before bouncing back to win in three sets.

There was further success for Westcliff Hard in the ladies’ doubles open where Faye Watts and Sue Hookway triumphed, defeating Olivia Sofroniou from Steeple View, Basildon.

And the David Lloyd Basildon pairing of Rob Heaton and Christie Hale prevailed in the mixed doubles open in a match which went to three sets.

But there were defeats for Westcliff Hard duo Sue Blackhaw, Paul Lansley of David Lloyd Basildon and Sergeant in their finals.

The trophies were presented by Essex County LTA president John Tucker and tournament organisers Mave and John Blewitt.
