Rayleigh Tennis Club is encouraging more people to pick up a racket and play the sport when the club hosts an open day on Saturday, May 5.

The Watchfield Road club are inviting people of all ages from the local area to have a hit and experience the club’s wide range of facilities.

The afternoon of activities will start at 12.30pm for beginners, while improvers are invited to join a session starting at 2pm.

There will be mini-tennis on offer for the juniors and coaching for beginners and improvers. Refreshments will also be available.

Rayleigh Tennis Club chairman Claire Todman said: “At Rayleigh Tennis Club, we want to encourage as many people in the local area to come and try out the game.

“We already have strong junior membership and we hope that by opening our doors to all on Saturday, we will encourage a range of abilities and ages to try out this fun and sociable sport.”
