SOUTHEND United manager Steve Tilson has yet to open contract talks with the club.

The Blues boss has just 12 months left on his remaning deal.

But he has yet to be offered a new contract.

“I am still waiting for the club to get back to me with an offer of a new contract,” confirmed Tilson.

The 43-year-old has been at Roots Hall since November 2003 but he has been boosted by Scott Spencer’s decision to stay.

The striker signed on a free transfer last January after leaving Rochdale and has now put pen to paper on a year-long deal with the Blues.

“We’re obviously pleased that Scott will still be with us for next season,” added Tilson.
