SOUTHEND United have survived being put into administration by striking a deal with the taxman.
The Blues were in court over a £238,000 unpaid bill to HM Revenue & Customs.
At London's High Court today, the HMRC said it would withdraw its application to put the club into administration if a winding up petition next week is dismissed.
The club has been taken to court by Charterhouse Commercial Finance and faces a hearing on August 11.
