OUR injury situation has worsened and we are woefully short of players right now.

When Johnny Herd got injured against Hereford United last Friday I think that left us with 13 fit players.

But we’ve suffered three further blows since then with two of the lads picking up a sickness bug and another one limping off the training ground on Tuesday.

I’m not willing to reveal who they are but we are still hopeful they will be available.

However, even if they are we are still going to be struggling for numbers and members of the youth team will have to be dragged in to the squad.

The injuries we’ve got are all impact injuries and it means lady luck just hasn’t been shining on us at all.

It’s certainly not ideal and it’s very likely that we will have to start with Ryan Hall at left-back for Saturday’s games with Stockport County.

He put in a disciplined performance there after Herdy’s injury against Hereford and it was good to see because the previous two matches were probably his worst displays at the football club.

There were concerns that maybe he wasn’t as focused on his game after his court case ended but he did well against Hereford.

Playing at home is different to playing away though and I will have to help him and give him some advice on what is expected of him.

Harry Crawford also has a strong case for selection after scoring twice against Hereford.

He’s certainly in my thoughts but I will be studying the opposition and will come up with what I think will be the best way to beat them.

It’s good to be going in to Saturday on the back of a 4-0 win, especially as I felt the players had let themselves down in the two or three matches before then.

We went through one or two things on the training ground and reminded them what was needed and they took what we said on board.

We are still also working very hard to bring players to the football club but it’s proving to be very difficult.

We keep going for the same people and getting the same answers but we won’t be giving up because we realise we need to bring in new signings.
