IT WAS a case of like father, like son for Simon and Jack Robinson as they took part in the London Bikeathon to raise money for leukaemia research.
The family team, from Leigh, managed to raise £860 after undertaking the 26-mile route across the capital.
Simon’s son Jack, a student at Belfairs High School in Leigh, and was happy to join his dad on the ride round.
Simon, who lost his best friend to leukaemia, said: “I am really proud of Jack. This is the first year he has joined me and it’s really great to be doing this together.
“We signed up in February and have been out practising a lot – including every other Sunday regardless of the weather.”
Jack, aged 13, added: “I got a real buzz out of cycling around the parks and streets in London and raising money for charity.
“I am very grateful to my friends and teachers at school who helped me raise this money. There’s another marathon ride in Southend in September and dad and I are talking about doing that.”
