A FORMER car salesman turned TV celebrity from Leigh will line up with a host of famous faces as he competes in Celebrity Masterchef.

Dom Littlewood will join former footballer John Barnes, tennis coach Judy Murray and Olympians Sam Quek and Sir Matthew Pinsent in a bid to impress judges on the BBC show.

Filmed before the current coronavirus crisis, the famous faces will be put through their culinary paces over five weeks to find out who has the cooking skills to take home the trophy.

After four weeks of heats, the semi-final and final week will see celebrities tasked with mass catering from tents for 100 people, a takeaway themed Invention Test, and cooking for celebrity chef Aldo Zilli.

Well-known Mr Littlewood rose to fame presenting programmes such as Fake Britain and Cowboy Builders.

Dom went to St Teresa’s Primary School, in Rochford, and ran a car showroom in London Road, Leigh, before hitting the small screen.

He once taught a vicar how to sell a car from a Leigh car sales forecourt for a TV show.
