THE Leisure Island Fun Park is now re-opening ... only weeks after bosses announced its closure.
The amusement park on Canvey seafront is re-opening from Thursday, only a month after owner Scott Petty confirmed it's closure, which appeared at the time to be permanent.
Mr Petty has told the Echo issues with Castle Point Council have now been ironed out. He had felt pushed out by council bosses.
But he has now said the council has promised him the park won't be "left out of the loop" when it comes to proposing ideas to benefit the seafront.
In recent days, Scott Petty has had to deny "totally untrue" rumours on social media, which said the reason for closure was incorrect permission for its rides.
Late last month, Norman Smith, leader of Castle Point Council, denied claims the council were preventing the park from re-opening.

In a statement issued tonight, Scott said: "We are happy to announce "leisure Island Fun Park" is opening back up.
"We are opening from this Thursday the 23rd.
"We would like to thank everyone for their words of support over the last few weeks.
"As a small thank you we are freezing our £5 wristband price for the next two years."
