A FAMILY of four had to be rescued from their car after getting stuck in flood water.
The driver had tried to navigate Church Lane in Billericay on Saturday morning despite the road being waterlogged following heavy rain brought in by Storm Alex.
The car then got stuck.
Firefighters led two adults and two children to safety.

A spokesman for Essex Fire and Rescue Service said: "With more heavier rain expected throughout this weekend, please follow our advice and stay safe while driving on wet roads.
"If you come across a flooded road, turn around and find another route.
"Do not attempt to drive through flood water - just a couple of feet of water is enough to float your vehicle.
.Reduce your speed and allow extra braking distance.
"Driving into flood water just isn't worth it.
"Not only are you risking your own life, you'll also require the help of fire crews and rescue teams who could be needed elsewhere."
