READERS and councillors have reacted after a vehicle veered off a “treacherous” road leaving a teenager in a life-threatening condition.

Essex Police were called to Creeksea Ferry Road, in Canewdon, after a black Ford Fiesta left the road and crashed into a ditch at around 1.50am.

An 18 year-old woman was subsequently taken to hospital after reportedly sustaining chest injuries and is described as being in a life-threatening condition.

The road was quickly closed by Essex Police so officers could begin to carry out investigations into the horrific incident.

“But what I will say is my thoughts go out to all families that are involved in this incident.”

After the serious incident two 17-year-old boys and a 17-year-old girl were also taken to hospital.
