A FOURTH person has been arrested in connection with a crash in which a teenager sustained life-threatening injuries.

Essex Police were called to Creeksea Ferry Road, in Canewdon, after a black Ford Fiesta left the road and came to a stop in a ditch at around 1.50am yesterday.

An 18 year-old woman was subsequently taken to hospital after reportedly being in a life-threatening condition having suffered chest injuries.

The road was quickly closed by Essex Police so officers could begin to carry out investigations into the horrific incident.

She was questioned on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and failing to report a collision,

She was also quizzed on suspicion of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and has now been released under investigation.
