Two beachgoers got stuck in the mud while cooling off in the sea in Southend.
The duo both found themselves stranded when playing in the water off Jubilee Beach.
It sparked a huge response from the emergency services, with the coastguard from Southend and Canvey, RNLI, fire service and ambulance service all called to help.
A coastguard officer was able to speak to the two people stuck in the mud through a mobile phone to keep them calm while the incoming tide kept on rising around them.

One of the stranded people was said to be having difficulty breathing.
The RNLI was able to get into the water and free the people and get them back safely to shore.
They were both treated in the back of an ambulance but did not require a trip to hospital.
The rescue operation took place on Sunday when the coastguard dealt with another nine incidents, including searches for five different missing people.
With thousands of people flocking to Southend during the latest heatwave, the coastguard was busy once again yesterday and were called to three separate incidents in the space of an hour.
