Police say a man who was reportedly talked down off a bridge was brought to safety.
The incident happened around 5pm yesterday (Monday, July 26) and saw part of the A127 - near The Bell Junction - closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
AC Taxis had warned customers via social media there were delays to services due to the incident.
A spokesman for Essex Police told the Echo: "We were called to concerns for the safety of a man on a bridge over Prince Avenue, Westcliff, shortly after 5.05pm.
"Emergency services attended and the man was brought to safety.
"He was left in the care of medical professionals."

East of England Ambulance Service said it was unable to provide anymore information on the incident.
It is understood a member of the public stopped and spoke to the man on the bridge to provide reassurance to him before emergency services arrived and brought him to safety.
