More than a dozen motorists were caught speeding in Southend last night (Wednesday, January 5).
A police operation was held in the borough to clamp down on bad driving and collisions.
A total of 19 drivers were issued tickets for speeding, with another motorist reported for having no insurance.
In a post on Facebook, officers said: “Officers were out last night on a traffic operation and spent time engaging with the local community in Southend.

“Thank you to Safer Essex Roads for braving the cold with us.
“19 tickets were issued for speeding, the highest recorded was 41mph in a 30mph and one driver reported for no insurance.
“We're working hard to drive down deaths on our roads in 2022.”
