A drugs bust in Billericay has found 100 ready-made bags of cannabis after a pair were arrested with intent to sell drugs.

 Officers from The Billericay and Wickford Community Policing Team were in patrol in the town yesterday when they where they arrested a man at his home on Lancer Way for possession with intent to supply class b drugs.

A house search was subsequently conducted where the cannabis and a “large amount” of cash. A female was also arrested during this search.

A spokesman for Essex Police’s Basildon District said: “A house search was completed at his home address where a female was also arrested and a large amount of cash and approximately 100 ready weighed deal bags of cannabis found.

“They remain in custody for questioning. Upon officers leaving the address that had been searched they came across a juvenile male who was subsequently searched under The Misuse of Drugs Act.

They added: “He was found to have drugs and a lock knife on him. He too, remains in custody for questioning.”
