A MAN was rushed to hospital after he fell down steps and suffered a suspected seizure.
The man is also thought to have broken either his leg or pelvis in the fall, which happened on East Beach in Shoebury late at night.
He was able to call 999 and stayed on the line to help emergency workers locate him.
He had fallen down steps near to Rampart Terrace around midnight on Friday and landed on a concrete path.
The coastguard was sent out with torches to search for the man and a crew member eventually found him.

A spokesman said: “Coastguard officers then took over to provide casualty care and ensure that the casualty was made comfortable whilst awaiting East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust paramedics to arrive on scene.
“An air ambulance was initially put on standby but was stood down upon arrive of the paramedics.
“Coastguard officers then assisted paramedics as they assessed the casualty in situ and, once stabilised, officers helped carry the casualty on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance.”
The coastguard also helped looked after the man’s dog while he was being assessed at the scene, before sending it off with its owner to hospital.
