A STOLEN motorbike became entangled in railings following a crash in Chalkwell yesterday.
Officers from the Essex Roads Policing team say the rider and a pillion passenger both fled the scene of the collision in London Road but thankfully no one was injured.
They later discovered the bike had been reported stolen on Friday night.
It was one of dozens of traffic-related incidents recorded in Southend yesterday as police seized multiple vehicles.

The roads policing unit, which was working alongside officers from Southend Council caught 33 people sat in moving vehicles without wearing a seatbelt.
A total of eight vehicles were seized because the drivers had no insurance, and other offences saw six motorists caught using their mobile phones behind the wheel.
Among the size vehicles seized were six e-scooters, which are illegal to use in public areas.
Each rider was handed a £300 fine by police.
