A Basildon bin lorry caught on fire after batteries were dumped in a recycling bag.
The council say It's the fifth fire of a similar nature in recent months ad has issued a warning over items being placed in recycling bags.

Images shared by the council show thick plumes of smoke coming from the recycling bags.
A spokesman said: "One of our refuse vehicles caught fire on route last week because of batteries being put in a pink sack. It's the fifth fire of a similar nature in recent months.
"Luckily no one was injured, but it could have been worse.

"Batteries, oil, chemicals, and hot ashes can all cause fires in our vehicles. Never place these items in your refuse or trade bins.
