A BOY has been left seriously injured after a stabbing in Rayleigh as police continue to appeal for witnesses.

Essex Police was called to Rawreth Lane in Rayleigh, believed to be in the Asda car park, following reports of a boy being assaulted.

The victim, now confirmed as a 15-year-old, was taken to hospital with stab wounds following the assault on Friday, just before 10pm.

Three teenagers have since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Essex Police is now continuing their appeal for witnesses or anyone with footage in relation to this incident.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Rayleigh, where a 15-year-old boy was injured.

“Officers were called to Rawreth Lane in Rayleigh shortly before 10pm on Friday, February, 17 following reports of a boy being assaulted.

“The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds. Luckily, his injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life changing.

“Officers investigating this assault have since arrested an 18-year-old man, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

“They have since been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or have any further information to contact us.
