A 10-year-old boy is in hospital where his condition is described as life-changing after a serious crash in south Essex today.

Police were called at around 3.30pm today (July 27) following reports of a serious crash on open land at the rear of Aluric Close and Camden Close, Chadwell St Mary.

A child, 10, has been taken to hospital with a head injury after the crash which police believe at this stage involved a motorcycle which then left the scene.

The boy remains in hospital where his condition is described as life-changing, Essex Police says.

The force said: "We’d ask anyone who was in the area today and saw what happened to contact us.

"We’d also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage that may have captured something that will help our investigation to check their footage.

"If you know the rider or owner of the vehicle involved, please call us urgently.

"If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
