Police have issued a CCTV appeal in connection with a criminal damage probe after reports of a man dropping what appeared to be a brick onto a major road in Basildon.

Officers were called to the A127, also known as the Southend Arterial Road, in Basildon at around 10am on August 4 following reports of a young man dropping an object from a bridge onto the road.

The object, which looked like a brick, narrowly missed cars on the road on the Southend-bound carriageway.

Enquiries have remained ongoing and investigating officers are now releasing an image of a man they would like to speak with in connection with this investigation.
