A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "On Saturday 20 March, officers from our community policing Team attended a call regarding a vehicle submerged in a large lake in Rochford.

"It was unknown when, or how, the vehicle came to be in the water and raised concern as to the question of whether anyone could be trapped inside."

"Our officers worked in collaboration with recovery services and local farmers, who supported with tractors, to ensure the vehicle was safely removed from the water and thankfully it was found to be unoccupied.

"It is amazing just how diverse policing is and how we could not get the job done without the support of those within our communities, so a huge thank-you to the farmers who assisted us, who have been described by officers attending as brilliant."
