SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Tuesday night's 0-0 draw at Halifax Town.

We defended well when we had to against a Halifax side who have similar hang ups to the blues when it comes to scoring. It all comes back to the penalty miss which would have changed the whole pattern of the game if it had been scored.

@shrimpersaway

Another solid away performance ,with more players missing with injuries. When we learn to convert penalties we will start winning games.Good to see Lomas in at the back, but all in all, another good point and we move on to Oldham on Saturday.

@YeattsMatthew

A really decent away point. First half was great and we should’ve been one up. Second half Halifax a different team but we stood firm. Both Hobson/Kensdale very impressive and Miley had a great first half. Shame couldn’t get the win but a point at Halifax not to be frowned upon. @Ljarvis27.

Another battling performance, if these two games were weeks apart then they would be seen as great away results. Fully accept the mountain of injuries we have and to have good performances is great but they don't get promotion, points do so let's now crack on and get many!

@SearchTerry

A decent point away from home against a decent team in Halifax. Last season we would have capitulated but not this season, we harder to beat.

@SimonFi75771686

Considering our injury list, a great result and could have had all three points if we had converted the penalty. If only we we could sort out our lack of goals scored we’d be a few points better off. But still early days!

@tommyharris57

Good to see we are keeping goals conceded to a minimum. Before both recent games, I’d have taken a draw (tonight and v Solihull) Injuries do seem concerning but I know not all of them can be helped, e.g Clifford. Let’s hope for a win on Saturday and for no more penalties!

@TomSalmon123

A hard earned point. Hobson was outstanding once again as was Arnold. Powell run his heart out all game just our service let him down. A difficult place to come as we found last season and credit to the lads with the injuries we have to earn a point.

@dan_mays86

No better than mid table again.

@Rockets999

Two teams who can't score. A very poor game.

@BryanWoodford

Two away draws with two of the better teams in the league. Need two find someone else to take the penalties, at this stage I'd stick Arnold on them! Think we need two more forwards and count our losses on Hyde unless back in a week or two. Also, bring back Lopata and we’re good.

@glentiesbhoy

A good point away from home and a game we would have lost at the start of last season. I just feel we need a striker in ASAP otherwise we could find ourselves playing catch up and falling too far behind by the time Murphy and Cardwell are back.

@KetchleyShane

Full focus must be on getting our injured strikers back or a new signing. This is not a put down on our current ones who have worked extremely hard in the last two matches but it is clear we must have options.

@phillsilver9

At last, we are hard to beat away from home yet people still complain.
