SOUTHEND United head coach Kevin Maher thought Gus-Scott Morriss deserved to be sent off in his side’s 1-0 win at Wealdstone.
The Shrimpers right wing-back was shown a second yellow card, 19 minutes from time, for kicking the ball away after a free-kick had already been awarded.
And Maher had no complaints about the decision.
“You can’t complain when he’s kicked the ball away,” said Maher.
“He did brilliantly for the penalty and he’s been first class since he’s come in but we can’t have any complaints about that.
“It’s frustrating because with 11 we’d like to have gone out and got more goals.
“But with 10 we’ve had to defend for our lives and see it out.”
Scott-Morriss will now serve a one match suspension and will miss Saturday’s match with Yeovil Town at Roots Hall.
