SOUTHEND United’s youth team scholars will not play until they are paid, Echosport understands.
The scholars previously opted to take action back in November after being paid late.
And they have now decided to stop playing again after not receiving their pay packets for January.
The youth team match against Luton Town on Thursday night is still expected to go ahead but it is believed Blues will be fielding a side made up of players from younger age-groups.
The Hatters, who are coached by former Shrimpers midfielder Alan McCormack, have already been crowned league champions.
