CANVEY Island drew 1-1 with Braintree Town in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Mason Hall fired the Gulls in front at the Movie Starr Stadium but George Quentrell’s equaliser means the two teams will meet again in a replay at Cressing Road tomorrow.

Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Hashtag United were beaten 1-0 at home to Needham Market with Kyle Hammond scoring the only goal of the game six minutes into the second half.

However, there was success for Billericay Town who won 3-1 at Brightlingsea Regent.

An own goal from George Wind put Brightlingsea in front before Billericay hit back with goals from Bradley Stevenson, Moses Emmanuel and Ade Azeez securing an away win.

In the Essex Senior League, White Ensign drew 2-2 with Romford who started the day top of the table.

Nathan Wilson headed 13th placed Ensign in front before Ezekiel Bademosi also netted to make it 2-0.

However, the visitors fought back to secure a share of the spoils against their hard-working hosts who had skipper Mitch Stuart-Evans sent off for the third time this season.

Hullbridge Sports are 15th after drawing 2-2 at home to third placed West Essex.

Jason Banton and Bobby Badham were both on target for Hullbridge but it was a bad day for Great Wakering who lost 2-1 at Athletic Newham
