GUS Scott-Morriss is enjoying being reunited with goalkeeper Nick Hayes at Blues.
The duo lined up together for Hemel Hempstead Town and are team-mates once again after Hayes joined the Shrimpers on loan from Ipswich Town on the eve of Saturday’s match at Woking.
“I played with him for Hemel for half a season,” said Scott-Morriss.
“I know him and knew he was coming in so the gaffer told me to make him feel welcome.”
And Scott-Morriss was impressed with how Hayes performed in the 2-0 win at Woking after taking to the field just hours after signing.
“We’ve had a lot of new goalkeepers since I’ve been here but I thought he was excellent,” said Scott-Morriss.
“He commanded his box superbly and for someone who didn’t even really know the group you couldn’t have asked for anymore.
