BOWERS & Pitsea are striving for more consistency ahead of tonight’s crunch clash with Heybridge Swifts at the Len Salmon Stadium.

Bowers go into the game sitting fourth in the Isthmian North table, two places and one point above Steve Tilson’s Swifts.

And Bowers defender Luke Reeve is keen to ensure James Collins’ side are at their best on a more regular basis.

“This season at Bowers so far has been very up and down,” said Reeve.

“We have had some very good results and some poor ones too.

“But it’s now about trying to become more consistent and make winning become a habit.”

And the former Southend United defender is determined to help make that happen.

“My hopes personally are to play as many games as possible,” said Reeve.

“As a team we are hoping to be pushing at the top of the table and be competing all season.”

But Reeve expects a stern test tonight.

“Against Heybridge you know you’re in for a tough game,” said the defender.

“I have played a few seasons of senior football now and I am aware of the threat that Heybridge pose.

“They are a side that are constantly up near the top of the table and very narrowly missed out on promotion last season.”

Elsewhere tonight, 12th placed Basildon United head to Maldon & Tiptree who are 15th.

In the Isthmian Premier, 10th placed Billericay Town host 18th placed Dulwich Hamlet.

In the Essex Senior League, 10th placed Great Wakering Rovers host table-topping Woodford Town while Hullbridge Sports, who are eighth, head to 15th placed Barking.
