SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.
Poor result today. Gave away two sloppy goals and lacked that cutting edge in the final third. Would have liked a run in the cup and we had a team more than good enough to beat Yeovil today. Highlight was Beau MacDonald coming on as he looked pretty good!
@Strutty27
Beau MacDonald looked very good for such a young age Disappointing but focus on the league campaign now.
@zxchmiller_
Couldn't fault the effort but can't score means we were always going to be the wrong side of the result. Off day for many but we go again next Saturday.
@SimonGDodd
Battled hard but ultimately just need to forget the result, no suspensions picked up and hopefully Mooney's knock isn't serious. Beau MacDonald did very well & looked like he'd been playing all season when he came on, a good prospect.
@OggTheMaster
I think we played as well as we could’ve done, given our player availability. Probably a blessing in disguise, but well played to the two young lads, especially Beau, who held his own against very experienced opposition players.
@PhilOwen702
Best possible result. With our squad size and challenges the FA Cup is a huge distraction. It’ll still be around next year! Get the bloody embargo lifted.
@299Peter
Tired and laboured, lack of ideas literally one step too far , the final days of Ron martins suffocation on this once great club.
@southendsidthe6
Just never really got going but with the players out that we have and under embargo still, replay would have been a good result. That Lino was shocking though!
@DeanoooG
Was bound to happen eventually. Lack of player availability cost us. Not overly bothered, yeah a cup run would be nice, but going out so early gives us less fish to fry.
@ejll____
Never looked like scoring even after dominating most of the play and says it all when a 16 year old came on and was our best player!
@RamseyMatt87
Disappointing but hardly a shock. We’ve got a tiny squad & with all the injuries, unavailabilities through being cup tied & international call ups, left us with just 11 fit players & an unfit player plus two kids on the bench ! That said 90 min cup runs are normal for us sadly!
@tommyharris57
Least bothered I’ve ever felt about a loss. Was expected with the thinnest of squads in football. Only one man to blame. On to the league.
